NFL wk#1 ~
OUR GRIDIRON GAMES
HAVE JUST BEGUN!

<ABSOLUTELY BEST PICK>  Thursday ~

CONGRATS to SUGAR SACK and BOARDWALK SURF WARRIORS in the STADIUM -- They saw the WHO DATS come marching in. (Sorry Brett - my heart was in all the places the unsaintly Saints bruised you to match the colour of your uniform. Bounties - bah!)

AND NOW ~ FIRST SUNDAY
OF THE NFL SEASON!
Have we been waitin' for this one or what?

GET A GRIP! - pic ala youfantasysports

NFL wk#1
PROGNOSTI*KATIONS:

FROM THE COUCH ~ photo ala SayCheese
Hey there SportsFans extraordinaire!

This is where we meet up wit'ya every weekend, me and that HUSTLING HARRY, whose ABSOLUTELY BEST NFL PICKS are right on the line, just below mine ... I'd like to think the Couch's decision is final, but . . . we shall see what we shall see.

HAPPY FOOTBALL WATCHING!
Get your food in gear and your gear near your dear. And Hey? -- What are YOUR Absolutely Best NFL Picks?

ABSOLUTELY BEST NFL PICKS

DOLPHINS swim over
where the Bills are still Buffalo'd
 The Lions whimper where
DUH BEARS roar (Oh My!)
Raiders come unarmed for where
the TITANS stand tall

Even with the threat of musket stealing
by the reality showoff Bengals,
THE PATRIOTS hold their territory
and stick to their guns

The Panthers play but the
GIANTS cast the deciding shadow

Yeah, yeah, yeah (Beatles, '64) ~
Though folks think the Falcons are the way to fly,
 the STEELERS can still raise
that curtain pretty gosh darn high!
(A Ben does not make a whole team - watch the D)

Watch for a whole new ballgame
when renewed BROWNS
make the Buccaneers "Arrrrgh"

Tough call here.
BRONCOS could well stomp the JAGS
though home opener about evens it up with
Denver whippersnapper coach who gives players away

Peyton in place keeps the COLTS
as the hooves over the have nots Texans

Reverend Coach's prayers are payin' off with 49'rs
ascending higher than the Seahawks fly

Cheese whiz -- Aaron the hot hotshot
will PACKERS it all in with a grin
and Donovan-less Eagles feathers shall fly

I'm thinkin' the CARDINALS are gonna fly
over what the new starter QB throws to be
Ram-tough. (I wish Sam well though - Rookie up!)

The riled-up rile-valry
is the SUNDAY NIGHT GAME to watch!

You can't out-Shanahan Shanahan though --
He's put together a pretty impressive group of no-nonsense guys against a giant TV-a-tron that could fall on the playing field at any time.
Go REDSKINS. Lasso them Cowboys.

Quoth the RAVENS: "Shut up Rex"
Jets have soft landing

Come first MONDAY NIGHT . . .

BOLTS too charged up for Chiefs on the run

Read'em but don't weep folks ~
There's no crying in football either!

So ~ WhattaYOUGot?

HUSTLING HARRY'S
HUNNERD PERCENT
  PIGSKIN PICKS!

DOLPHINS
Broncos regret bidding Brandon Marshall adieu,
Bills still ok with offing Owens

BEARS
If the Lions are truly trending towards improvement this might not be a bad spot to surprise. Still, I’ll stick with Cutler and Co. for at least one more.

TITANS
I can’t even see that silver-faced guy with the spikey shoulders getting excited about the Raiders this year. Titans in a channel flipper.

PATRIOTS
Business as usual for the Pats
while O & O help the Bengals
open up 0 & 1

  PANTHERS
G-Men almost automatically get the nod even though they went 8 & 8 last year. I’ll gamble on the Panthers to leave New York’s first win in new stadium to the Jets

 STEELERS
I’m sticking with the Steelers mainly because Byron Leftwich is out. I hated the slow bumbler in J’ville and can’t believe he’s sporting a ring for riding the bench in P’ville. Dixon goes from #3 to #2 this week and Polamalu keeps Falcons in check.

BROWNS
I like Josh Freeman but his thumb is broken. It’s been a long time since Holmgren earned his guru status and if the Browns lose, it could be rescinded altogether. Browns in an iffy one.

BRONCOS
Not crazy about my Broncos this year
but fortunately I like my Jags even less.

TEXANS
I’ve been watching the Texans getting better since Kubiak took over. It’s more make or break for their season to get off to a good start. Look for a fuming Peyton Manning kept on the bench.

49'rs
This is the year the 9ers make the playoffs!

EAGLES
I’m not crazy. I do know the Pack has already won this game, or at least that’s what everyone seems to think. This is just the sort of game
I can’t help going the other way on. Surprises all around, don’t book your airfare yet G.B.

CARDINALS
I would love to be able to look at the loss of Kurt Warner as an angle to go against the Cardinals. I will but it won’t be against the Lambs.

REDSKINS
Here’s one I’m looking forward too.
As A*K says, ”You can’t out Shanahan Shanahan!”

JETS
I actually like Rex Ryans big mouth.
A little (LOT) of smack talk has sure got Ray Lewis fired up. Jets back up the smack!

Come first MONDAY NIGHT . . .

BOLTS
 Completely Concur with our
Football Prognisti*Kating host.
Chargers get the weekend off facing Chiefs

  1. Well there, HustlingHarry,

It sure looks like we're just diff on 3 games this week. Go another bag of Peanut M&M's and put your rile-valry where your mouth is ... seeing how you like Rex's rousing so much. ;-)

  2. I took the Panthers, Texans, Eagles and the Jets. That's 4. You took both the Broncos and the Jags. What's that 4 1/2???

    ReplyDelete
  3. Uh yeah ... that math adds up fine for me. Called covering my yardage, pal.

  4. I'm gonna tell it like it is, and bet anything except my Milk Duds on these dandy teams to win: Dolphins,Bears,Titans,Patriots,Giants,Steelers,
    Buccaneers,Broncos,Colts,49ers,Packers,
    Cardinals,Redskins,Ravens,Chargers

    Your Monday Morning Quarterback,

  5. I suppose I can play this game. Being a foreigner to the game, do I get the automatic 2 points for the Saints winning??

Here are mine for this week:
Browns, Dolphins, Patriots, Colts, Jaguars, Steelers, Raiders, Panthers, Bears, Cardinals, Packers, 49ers, Redskins, Jets and Chargers.

Now, Sugar, where do we find the concession stand?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Sugar IS the concession stand Paulie -- I mean she's a walking vault of sweetness we all treasure, plus of course she bakes pies, runs a bar that serves everyone's faves and keeps all pockets brimming with Milk Duds.

Sooo ... It seems Har and I differ by 4 -- Shoogs and I by Only One -- and the premier prognosticator representing the Aussie voice of reason, another 4.

STAY TUNED through GameWeekend #1 folks for who had the Absolutely Best NFL Picks ... and what teams we think we can see ... going ... all ... the ... way.

So absolutely glad to see you play.
    ~ Absolutely Steeler*Kate

PS ~ Paul, I'm giving you one point for the Saints win and call your warm welcome nature 'foreign to none'.

  7. Awwwwwwwwww, KatieMaezers, thank you for sayin' I'm so sweet...I'll bake you one of my sour cherry pies and top it off a la mode just 'cause you're so nice to me. Boys, you can have a piece too, if she wants to share. ;)

Just kicking back from the things that you do
You want the Big Game, we want it too!
Hey Jack it's a fact, the show's back in town,
The stadium's rockin', time to crank up the sound the NFL's best have come to play
For every fan there's just one thing left to say...I've been waiting all day for Sunday Night!! The tough get rough in a primetime fight
The last one standing gets to turn out the lights cause I been waiting all day for Sunday Night, Sunday Night Football on NBC.
Al & John are the best on TV.
Players are ready, kick that ball off the tee
cause the NFL rocks on NBC!! sung sweetly by Shoogs and Faith

  9. Smiling so large my laughter just keeps on rollin' out ~ Sang this out for History's Hero who didn't even know there were scrawled out lyrics. Sure figgers Sugar Sack could sing it back, upstage Faith and STILL pull a poifect sour cherry pie outta da oven (during time-out commercials), alamode it and serve up a sensation.

Call me thankful, Call me Absolutely Steeler*Kate ... just don't call me late to the pie with pals table!

  10. Congratulations Sugar Sack, right now you lead the pack and top the stack!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Well ain't that top o'the pack stack o'sweet Sugar Sack so maple syrupy? Hey, I was goin' with the theme ...

And Congrats as well to a fella that's so swell you can tell he's not really Mattel -- History's Heroes -- @ 11 top winnin' wins too.
